Units of Work
About Me
On your wiki have the front page written in a way that sells who you are with your interests, talents and skills. Use language that will impress teachers, mentors and possible employers. Show photos, images etc etc
Can't Live Without
See example and create your own sheet of items/people you can't live without. You should include 8-10 items that show pictures and some text for each one. Use pictures off the internet or take actual photos (preferred). The best program to use would be Microsoft Publisher. Upload to your My Work page.
Life Map
See example and info. Use Publisher and upload to your My Work page.
Journal Writing
You are required to do one piece of journal writing each week. Example here. Write about what you are enjoying, what you are learning, new skills, what is difficult, what you don't like, what you can do better and how can you improve etc. This can be kept in your portfolio or written on a wiki page
Report - Treasure Hunt OH&S
Consider the Treasure Hunt Challenge Geoff had you do whereby TEC$ were hid around the William Orr Campus.
Complete a (100 word) report and answer the following questions: What hazards did the group experience? What could Geoff have added or changed to make the activity safer? What is the one main hazard you would like William Orr to remove? Give 3 reasons. Do the report in Microsoft Word and upload to your work page..
Passion Mind Map
See example. This is a document you can keep adding to with ideas and likes. Your passion may even change. Keep thinking of people you can have as mentors and places where you can do your LTI (Learning Through Internship). This can be kept in your portfolio or set up your own wiki page.
$100 Words
As a team, the whole class needs to work together to find words that equal exactly $100 (A = $1, B = $2. C = $3 etc). Only words that can be found in the dictionary will be accepted. At the end of the session you will be paid $20 per word as a group and then divide it by the number in the class. The words the class found are here.
How many words can you find individually?
Individual Project
Each person is to plan and complete an individual project that benefits the Shepparton TEC. Talk to Geoff, Narelle or Vaughan as to what you can do to help.
Learning Plan
Each term you will be required to complete a Learning Plan that gives you a guide as to the Personalised Learning you will do each term. The LP will be your responsibility but your teachers and mentor will help you with ideas and suggestions. Keep it up to date and make changes where necessary.
Yabby Day Report (200 words)
Complete a report on the Yabby Day (if you weren't there write 200 words on what you did). Consider these questions in your report:
- What was done to consider OHS? Did it help?
- What did you do on the day?
- What did you learn?
- If you had another day like this what could be done differently?
- Think of other questions to help your report
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones have been a problem in our class. Look here to see what one school has decided to do about the problem.
What are your thoughts? Add to the list.
Video Day Report
Geoff Away - Report on watching the video. Write a 500 word report on what you learnt about watching the video and what you should have done on the day. What was suitable, what was not, what could you have done better? Explain your actions and thoughts.
In The Spotlight
Use this idea to add another page to your wiki. Be honest and remember others may well read it. So don't be too silly.
Remember to use all the questions and don't forget a photo and a drawing. Here is mine.
Plan a Trip
You have a great opportunity to plan a trip linked with your passion, LTI or project. Keep it in mind when doing your LTI and talk with your mentor as to where you could possibly go. Also discuss with me and your parents. Click here to add your ideas.
Exhibition
Each term you will be required to do an exhibition of the project you have been working on in your LTI. You will need to prepare throughout the term and working with your teachers and mentor.

People of Passion Report
Read one of the articles that interests you and write a 250 word report. Consider the following questions: What did you find really interesting? Why? What did you learn about that career/job/interest? What did you notice about that person's passion? What lesson or tip did you get out of it?
Should people shake hands?
Read this article and write a 250-500 word report. What do you agree with? What do you disagree with? Where did the tradition of shaking hands come from? What would a solution be to his concerns? How else could people greet each other? What else can you find out from research?
