Which of your cartoons has got the biggest response?

Funnily enough, the biggest response I've had was from a piece I wrote and illustrated (for The Age) about my dog being killed by a pit bull. My wife subbed it for me, she's an ex- English and French teacher. I got over 70 letters.

Is there a cartoon you wish you'd never drawn?

A lot from my past I don't like to look at. They were pretty immature some people might say nothing's changed. More recently there was one I did attacking the police, which made a reference to police being pigs. It was unfair and I regret it.

Have you ever had a cartoon pulled?

Yes, for legal reasons some have been left out. Since I work very close to deadline, sometimes it means there's no time to do something else. You learn to live with it.

What makes a good cartoon?

Personally, they are the ones that appear innocent but are not. I like ones that take people by surprise rather than bludgeon them with a sledgehammer.
