| What do you see are the real problems with mobile phones at school/s? |
What would be a better solution? |
What would happen if the TEC did the same thing? Such as ban the mobile phones.
|
| Tamina - Becoming distrated. TA |
Both mooroopna and wanganuis solution. |
It would be hard on us because some students need to contact parents after school to be picked up and we leave at different times some day. Also some of us may need to receive an important call. |
| Nathan - |
I agree with mooroopnas soulution of not taking any resposability if phones are damaged and wanganuis soulution |
Then trying to organise when we will get out parents to come and pick us up becaus the tafe is so far out of town it would be much harder and a MASSIVE inconvenience. |
| jennifer- students using them in class time. JM |
i think i agree with mcguire college and wanganuis soulutions as i think if they are not causeing a distraction then it is fine. JM |
i dont think it would really work as most people realie on there phone for lifts and communication in do think that a box that we put our phones into would be a good idea but. JM |
| Rebecca - loosing interest RS |
i agree with Mooroopna's and wanganuis solutions RS |
It would be hard for most students because they either need to call or text there parents to pick them up after school or either go to a appointment. Most students know when to use them and when not to. So they shouldnt be banned. RS |
| Ethan- phones being a distraction |
i think it should be used at certain times like when we need a lift EHD |
It would be bad for us as most of us will need a lift home so we can contact family or friends to pick us up. or it could be work asking you to do a shift. EHD |
|
Aj- Concentration.
|
Mooroopna's solution is a better one to allow them but won't take any responsibilty for the loss of their phone. |
Well that would be a stupid idea because teenagers need their mobiles incase of emergency accidents with the family and also use them for contact to get ride home and to contact parents.. |
| shannon.j-bullying |
i dnt have a comment to a solution to the so called arguement |
people have their own different opinions about the mobile phone issue,my only comment is that i wont be leavign my phone off or in a box, only left on silent as to not distract everyone else, like everyone says that they need if for rides or whatever,im keepin mine on because i have parents that might need to ring, bus driver that rings sometime and certain employment agencies that ring from time to time to see how im going |

Why don't you think about writing something to support or argue against this type of decision and email to Darren Linton, the reporter. See if they put it into the paper.

Well done Tamina for being the first to add some thoughts. You need to add your initial to the above. I have done the first one for you.
